Jasmine's Rhinoplasty in Korea and 6 Months Update

A rhinoplasty, or “nose job,” as it is popularly called, is a complicated surgery that requires a lot of skill, because even a small tweak to a nose can make or break someone’s appearance. When Jasmine (@jasminelhr), a social media influencer from Singapore, decided to have a rhinoplasty she knew she would need to be in great hands. Many of you have followed Jasmine’s Rhinoplasty with Eunogo as her Premium Beauty Concierge when she traveled to Seoul, South Korea, to have her nose surgery at Banobagi Plastic Surgery Clinic with Dr. Noh Yong Joon.

Jasmine chose Eunogo because of our commitment to vetting the clinics and doctors we work with, and our hard-working Concierge team that she knew would support her every step of the way. In fact, you can see Jun, our head Concierge hard at work with Jasmine throughout the entire process. Beginning with arranging hotel and transportation for Jasmine, and attending Jasmine’s consultation the day before surgery, to being right by her side to walk her to the operating room and help her post-procedure, Jun made sure Jasmine had everything she needed to heal quickly.

Part 2: Recovery process

Jasmine remained in Korea to make sure her recovery was smooth for another 11 days and Jun from Eunogo came along with Jasmine to her post-op appointments to make sure she had proper translation and care during her healing process. Jasmine had to go back to Banobagi Clinic multiple times to remove her dressings, and on Day 7, her nose cast and stitches. During her recovery process she also had to keep her nose sterilized to avoid infection, per Dr. Noh’s instructions.

Part 3: Looking back 6 months on...

Finally, we were able to sit down with Jasmine 6 months after her rhinoplasty to discuss some of your burning questions, especially when it comes to how to deal with reactions from friends, family, and naysayers, who may question your decision to improve yourself via a plastic surgery procedure. Let's dive into our interview with Jasmine!

At our 6 months review interview with Jasmine

Q: It's been 6 months since your plastic surgery journey with Eunogo and Banobagi. How have you changed after the procedure?

Jasmine: I did rhinoplasty at Banobagi and before that, I had a really flat nose. 6 months on, after the surgery, I feel amazing. Now that I have this nose bridge, I know it's just a small difference to some people but it means a lot to me, because it feels like a brand new confidence that I never knew I had. That was always hidden inside, and then just brought out by this one simple procedure. So I'm really thankful and I feel great.

Q: What about the reactions from your family, friends, and boyfriend? How was that?

Jasmine: Actually the first time I mentioned that I wanted to do plastic surgery, I didn't even specifically say what treatment or what procedure I wanted to do, but my boyfriend was just like, "No need, you're already so beautiful in my eyes." But I said, "Oh please, everyone will say that." In the end , I did convince him that it's just something small, you know it's not as if I'm going to change, and I'm really glad that he got onboard with the idea because after I did my nose, I think even my boyfriend did tell me that he realised how big of a difference it made to me and my character as a person, and how much confidence it gave me. Actually, my close friends and my family have also told me that they feel like I'm more confident about taking photos of myself right now, because previously before the surgery itself, I would always do a lot of editing. But now I don't have to do that anymore, and I'm sure that everyone around me can see.

Q: What was the reaction from your Social Media followers from Instagram and YouTube?

Jasmine: There are actually two sides to the story. There's the really nice fans: they're very supportive, loving, and leave nice comments. But there's also people who are out there to bring you down, so I have had comments targeting me and saying things like "Oh you're such a fake person. Why do you have to do it? You made yourself more ugly. You don't appreciate what God gave you."

I just want to put it out there, it's not that I don't appreciate it, but I'm a very strong believer of self-love. You have to do things for yourself instead of other people. Just because these comments are coming to you, doesn't mean you've got to stop doing what you want to do. So for me, I just take them with a pinch of salt. I stand my ground and tell them that I've not changed, it's just my nose, I'm still Jasmine, I'm still the same old me, just with a brand new nicer nose now.

I'm not trying to advocate for people to actively look for flaws in themselves. It's just that if you do have a flaw, and you want to do something about it, it's your right to go ahead and change it however you like it. But if you don't want to, and that's your right as well, you can do whatever you want because it's your body. What I hope to achieve is to actually spread more positivity about plastic surgery. I want to get rid of this stigma that people have that it's bad, because it's really not. I feel like it did bring out a lot more positivity in me as a person, and I hope that that it will do the same for people out there..

Q: How was the whole experience with Eunogo concierge service?

Jasmine: I have to say that before I decided to do plastic surgery, I was always really scared about it. Because I mean, it's invasive! But I'm really glad to say that my first time was done with a concierge like Eunogo, because they were with me throughout every step. From the planning, I remember sitting down in the office and telling you what procedures I wanted to do and you actually listed down the different clinics that were the specialists in that field. I was in good hands, because all the clinics that Eunogo has on the website are all thoroughly vetted, and certified to have really good reviews. I felt like I was in good hands, and that no matter what clinic I went to, I'll be safe and I'll be happy. I remember meeting Jun, Eunogo’s Head Concierge, on my first day in Korea, and I was so thankful for her because throughout my entire recovery, Jun was there. She brought me food, she brought me my medications, she accompanied me on my check-ups, and she did all the translation and all the paperwork for me, and I cannot imagine not having her thereI am really so thankful to have met Jun and the entire Eunogo team. I would really really recommend anyone who wants to go to Korea, especially if you are a foreigner, please go through a concierge, because it's so much more efficient, and so much easier on yourself, so you can focus 100% on your recovery. I had a really really amazing experience.

Q: How would you describe Eunogo in one word?

Jasmine: Eunogo in one word would be 'special'. Basically, they will always have a very special place in my heart, because technically Eunogo gave me my first plastic surgery experience, which is a really big milestone. I really wouldn't have been able to successfully recover in such a short period of time. I recovered in 7 days. That's really fast. I really think that that was really largely attributed to the fact that I could rest 100% without having to worry about anything else. Everything was just delivered to me. I had a really smooth and fuss-free experience in Korea, even though I don't speak the language, but this all couldn't have been achieved without Eunogo. So yeah, special.
